Then, when the Messengers (the angels) came unto the family of Lout (Lot). 61 he said to them: 'I do not know you' 62 They said: "Yea, we have come to thee to accomplish that of which they doubt. 63 And we have brought unto thee the truth, and verily we say sooth. 64 Leave the town with your family sometime during the night. Walk behind them and let no one turn around. Proceed as you are commanded." 65 And We decreed for him that commandment, that the last remnant of those should be cut off in the morning. 66 And the inhabitants of the city came rejoicing (at the news of the young men's arrival). 67 He said, 'These are my guests; put me not to shame, 68 And fear Allah, and humiliate me not. 69 They said: "Did we not forbid thee (to speak) for all and sundry?" 70 Lot exclaimed in exasperation: "If you are bent on doing something, then here are my daughters." 71 By your life, (O Prophet), they went about blindly stumbling in their intoxication. 72 So the rumbling overtook them (while) entering upon the time of sunrise; 73 And We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay. 74 Herein are really signs for those who discern. 75 it is still there on the highway -- 76 surely in this there is a sign for those who believe. 77 The dwellers of the Wood (near Midian) were also wicked. 78 and so We inflicted Our retribution on them. And behold, both these [sinful communities] lived by a highway, [to this day] plain to see 79

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
