The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 by those that swim serenely 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
