The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Recite: In the Name of thy Lord who created, 1 created Man of a blood-clot. 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 who, by the pen, taught the human being: 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 That he thinketh himself independent! 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 What will happen if the praying person is rightly guided 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, 15 A lying, sinning forelock. 16 So let him now call his gang! 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 No indeed; do thou not obey him, and bow thyself, and draw nigh. ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
