And recite to them the story of Ibrahim. 69 when he asked his father and his people, "What is that which you worship?" 70 They said: "We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted." 71 He asked, "Do they hear you when you call to them? 72 or benefit you or do you harm?" 73 They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing thus (what we do)." 74 (Abraham) said, "Do you know that what you worship 75 you and your fathers, the elders? 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 who created me; and He guides me, 78 "And it is He Who feeds me and gives me to drink. 79 who, when I am sick, heals me; 80 He will cause me to die and will bring me back to life. 81 and whom I am eager shall forgive me my sins on the Day of Recompense' 82 Lord, grant me authority. Join me to the righteous ones. 83 And appoint for me an honourable mention among the posterity 84 and make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 And forgive my father, for surely he is of those who have gone astray; 86 and do not disgrace me on the Day when all people are resurrected, 87 The day when neither wealth nor children will be of any avail 88 “Except he who presented himself before Allah, with a sound* heart.” (Intact or unblemished.) 89 And Paradise will be brought near to the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2). 90 And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators, 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 Instead of Allah? Can they help you or help themselves? 93 Then will they be hurled therein, they and the seducers 94 And the whole hosts of Iblis (Satan) together. 95 They will say while they dispute therein, 96 By Allah, of a truth we were in error manifest 97 When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 No one but the sinners led us astray. 99 “So now we do not have any intercessors.” (The believers shall have intercessors, the disbelievers none). 100 no loyal friend. 101 “So if only were we to go back, in order to become Muslims!” 102 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers! 103 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 104
