Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 even though they make excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
