The notables among his people who had refused to believe and who denied the meeting of the Hereafter, and those whom We had endowed with ease and comfort in this life, cried out: "This is no other than a mortal like yourselves who eats what you eat and drinks what you drink. 33 If ye were to obey a mortal like yourselves, then, lo! ye surely would be losers. 34 Promiseth he unto you that ye, when ye have died and have become dust and bones, ye are to be brought forth? 35 ۞ Far-fetched, far-fetched indeed is what you are promised! 36 Life is not but our worldly life - we die and live, but we will not be resurrected. 37 He is naught but a man who has forged against God a lie, and we will not believe him.' 38 He said: 'Help me, Lord, they belie me' 39 (Allah) said: "In a little while, they are sure to be regretful." 40 So the true Scream seized them – We therefore made them like rotten hay; so away with the unjust people! 41 Then after them We brought forth other generations. 42 No nation can anticipate their term, nor can they delay it. 43 then We sent Our messengers in succession. Every time their messenger came to a people, they rejected him. So We destroyed them one after the other, and let them become mere tales. So away with the people who will not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron, with Our Signs and authority manifest, 45 To Firon and his chiefs, but they behaved haughtily and they were an insolent people. 46 They said: "Shall we believe in two men like ourselves, and their people are obedient to us with humility (and we use them to serve us as we like)." 47 So they denied them, and became of those who were destroyed. 48 And indeed We gave Moosa the Book, that they may attain guidance. 49 We made the son of Mary and his mother a miracle and settled them on a high land, quite secure and watered by a spring. 50
