Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 And We let it remain upon him in the latter: 78 Salamun (peace) be upon Nuh (Noah) (from Us) among the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)!" 79 That is how We reward those who do good. 80 Verily, he [Nuh (Noah)] was one of Our believing slaves. 81 Then We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And Abraham indeed was of his inducement, 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 "Behold!" he said to his father and to his people, "What are these that you worship? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 What think you then of the Lord of all Being?' 87 The people invited him to attend their feast). Then he looked at the stars 88 And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill." 89 But they went away from him, turning their backs. 90 Then turned he to their gods and said: Will ye not eat? 91 What ails you, that you speak not?' 92 And then he fell upon them, smiting them with his right hand. 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 “My Lord! Give me a meritorious child.” 100 We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. 101 When he was old enough to go about with him, he said: "O my son, I dreamt that I was sacrificing you. Consider, what you think?" He replied: "Father, do as you are commanded. If God pleases you will find me firm." 102 And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 you have indeed fulfilled your dream. Thus do We reward the good-doers.” 105 Verily, that indeed was a manifest trial 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram); 107 And We perpetuated (praise) to him among the later generations. 108 Peace be unto Abraham! 109 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 110 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 111 We gave Abraham the good news of Isaac, a prophet and a righteous man, 112 and We blessed him and Isaac, and from their offspring are some gooddoers, and others who clearly wronged themselves. 113
