a large throng from the ancients, 39 And a large group from the latter. 40 But those of the left hand -- how those of the left hand -- 41 In hot wind and boiling water, 42 And in the shadow of a burning smoke. 43 neither cool, neither goodly; 44 and before that they lived at ease, 45 and persisted in the great sin 46 ever saying, 'What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up? 47 "And also our forefathers?" 48 Say: "Indeed, the earlier and the later generations 49 "They will all be gathered together - on the appointed time of the known day." 50 Then you, you misguided ones, who deny the truth, 51 shall eat the fruit of the tree of Zaqqum, 52 and you shall fill therewith your bellies 53 And upon it, you will drink the hot boiling water. 54 Drinking even as the camel drinketh. 55 This will be their welcome on the Day of Judgment. 56 We created you; therefore why will you not believe? 57 Just consider the semen that you emit, 58 did you create it or did We? 59 We have decreed among you Death; We shall not be outstripped; 60 That We may transfigure you and make you what ye know not. 61 And ye certainly know already the first form of creation: why then do ye not celebrate His praises? 62 Behold! that which ye sow. 63 Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower? 64 If We willed, surely We would make it chaff, so that ye would be left wondering. 65 (Saying): "We are indeed Mughramun (i.e. ruined or lost the money without any profit, or punished by the loss of all that we spend for cultivation, etc.)! [See Tafsir Al-Qurtubi, Vol. 17, Page 219] 66 "Indeed are we shut out (of the fruits of our labour)" 67 See ye the water which ye drink? 68 Is it ye who shed it from the raincloud, or are We the Shedder? 69 If We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not grateful? 70 See ye the Fire which ye kindle? 71 Produce ye the tree thereof, or are We the Producer? 72 We have made it as a reminder and convenience for the needy. 73 Glorify, then, (O Prophet), the name of your Great Lord. 74

ColorfulQuran.com's English translation loads a random set of translators with equal probability, one translator for each verse. If you have difficulty understanding an interpretation, tap on the page number to reload it with a different set of translators. You may find it clearer, God willing. ColorfulQuran.com does not endorse or prefer any particular translation over another and displays it only for information.
Click or tap on "random" to go to any random page. Click or tap the triangle to the left of "random" to go to a random page before the current page, or the triangle to the right to go to a random page after the current page. Using these features of ColorfulQuran.com, you can use the right triangle or arrowhead to skim through the entire Holy Book from the first Surah, The Key (Al-Fatihah), to the last, The People (An-Nas), in a few minutes while stopping at random pages in between. This will make your readings cluster more on Juz Amma's short surahs at the end of the Quran. You can also do the same in reverse order using the left triangle or arrowhead, which will cluster your readings more at the beginning of the Holy Quran.
