Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Hour! 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 The Thamud and 'Ad denied the consequential calamity. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! 7 Beholdest thou any of them remaining? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. 10 And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), 11 That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. 14 So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 On that Day, he whose Record is given to him in his right hand will say: “Lo! Read my Record! 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 His shall be a pleasing life 21 in a lofty Garden 22 its fruits are near. 23 (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." 24 But as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he shall say, 'Would that I had not been given my book 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 Nor any food except refuse, 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37
