The people of the Wood too called the messengers liars. 176 When Shu'eyb said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 177 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 178 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 179 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ "Give full measure, and cause no loss (to others). 181 Weigh with correct scales: 182 do not defraud people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not spread corruption in the land. 183 And guard against (the punishment of) Him who created you and the former nations. 184 They said: You are only of those deluded; 185 And you are naught but a mortal like ourselves, and we know you to be certainly of the liars. 186 Cause, then, fragments of the sky to fall down upon us, if thou art a man of truth!" 187 He said, "My Lord knows all that you do." 188 But they denied him, and We seized them with the torment of the Day of Shadowing (when the cloud had rained down fire). It was indeed the torment of a terrible day! 189 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 190 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 191
