The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 About the Great News 2 About which they differ? 3 (What they think is certainly despicable!). They will soon come to know (the reality). 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Did We not make the earth a spreading, 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and We have made your sleep [a symbol of] death 9 And made the night as a covering, 10 And We have made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments, 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 And the heaven is opened and will become gateways 19 And the mountains will be moved – they will therefore become like mirages. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 The rebels' abode, 22 therein to tarry for ages, 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 However, We have recorded everything in a book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
