And when the messengers came unto the family of Lot, 61 he said, "You are strangers [to me]." 62 They answered: "Nay, but we have come unto thee with [the announcement of] something that they [who are given to evil] have always been wont to call in question, 63 "Yet we bring to you the truth, and we are truthful. 64 Therefore go forth with your followers in a part of the night and yourself follow their rear, and let not any one of you turn round, and go forth whither you are commanded. 65 We issued this command to him, for they were going to be destroyed in the morning. 66 And the inhabitants of the city came rejoicing (at the news of the young men's arrival). 67 He said: 'These are my guests; do not shame me. 68 And guard against (the punishment of) Allah and do not put me to shame. 69 They said, "Did we not forbid you to extend hospitality to strangers?" 70 He said, “These women of our tribe are my daughters, if you have to.” 71 Verily, by thy life (O Prophet), in their wild intoxication, they wander in distraction, to and fro. 72 Then the shout took hold of them at the sunrise. 73 and We turned it uppermost nethermost and rained on it stones of baked clay. 74 There are certainly signs in that for those who can learn a lesson -- 75 And lo! it is upon a road still uneffaced. 76 Verily in that is a sign for the believers. 77 And the dwellers of the wood surely were wrong-doers. 78 So we took vengeance on them; and lo! they both are on a high-road plain to see. 79

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
