The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
READ IN THE name of your Lord who created, 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who taught by the pen - 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 As he considers himself independent! 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 What is your opinion – regarding him who forbids – 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 Do you think he is rightly guided, 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock - 15 his lying sinful forelock. 16 So let him call on his concourse! 17 We too would summon the braves of the army. 18 No indeed; do thou not obey him, and bow thyself, and draw nigh. ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
