۞ And those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Why were not angels sent down to us, or [why] do we [not] see our Lord?" They have certainly become arrogant within themselves and [become] insolent with great insolence. 21 The day when they will see the angels – that day will not be of any happiness for the guilty – and they will cry, “O God, erect a barrier between us and them!” 22 We shall turn to their deeds and scatter them like particles of dust. 23 The Companions of the Garden will be well, that Day, in their abode, and have the fairest of places for repose. 24 On that Day, a cloud will appear rending the sky and the angels will be senthi down rank after rank. 25 on that Day [it will become obvious to all that] true sovereignty belongs to the Most Gracious [alone]: hence, a Day of distress will it be for all who deny the truth, 26 The Day that the wrong-doer will bite at his hands, he will say, "Oh! would that I had taken a (straight) path with the Messenger! 27 Alas, would that I had not taken So-and-so for a friend! 28 "He did lead me astray from the Message (of Allah) after it had come to me! Ah! the Evil One is but a traitor to man!" 29 And the Apostle will say: my Lord! verily my people took this Qur'an as a thing to be shunned. 30 To every Prophet We have appointed an enemy among the harmdoers; your Lord is Sufficient for you, a Guide and a Helper. 31 The unbelievers have said, "Why was the whole Quran not revealed to him at once?" We have revealed it to you in gradual steps to strengthen your hearts and give you explanations. 32 And they shall not bring to you any argument, but We have brought to you (one) with truth and best in significance. 33 Those who will be pushed faces forward into Hell will be in a worse position, farther away from the path. 34
