The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 About the awesome tiding [of resurrection,] 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 By no means! anon they shall know. 4 Nay! Nay! they shall soon know. 5 HAVE WE NOT made the earth a resting-place [for you,] 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 and created you in pairs (as men and women), 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 And We made the night to be a covering, 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 and heaven is opened, having gates, 19 and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. 20 [On that Day,] verily, hell will lie in wait [for those who deny the truth] 21 a goal for all who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right! 22 Living therein for ages. 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
