The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Reckoning for mankind is drawing near, yet they are heedless and turn away. 1 No mention comes to them anew from their Lord except that they listen to it while they are at play 2 Their hearts are involved in play; and the unjust secretly conferred, “What is he, except another a human like you?! So do you follow magic although you have perceived?” 3 He said: "My Lord knows well all that is spoken in the heavens and the earth. He is All-Hearing, All- Knowing." 4 Yet they say: "These are only confused dreams," or rather: "He has invented them;" or: "He is only a poet. Let him therefore bring a miracle to us as the earlier (apostles) were sent with." 5 Not a [single] city which We destroyed believed before them, so will they believe? 6 The messengers that We had sent before you were only men to whom We had given revelation. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know. 7 We did not make their bodies immune to hunger, nor were they immortal. 8 Then we fulfilled the promise unto them. So we delivered them and whom We would, and We destroyed the prodigals. 9 And assuredly We have sent down unto you a Book wherein is admonition for you; will ye not then reflect? 10
