Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 What is the concrete reality? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 Which He sent to assail them for seven nights and eight days running. You should have seen the people prostrate like the decayed trunks of date-palm trees. 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, 13 and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 And the heaven will split asunder – so on that day it will be unstable. 16 and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. 19 “I was certain that I will confront my account.” 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 in a lofty garden, 22 the clusters of whose fruit will be hanging low to be within reach (of the inmates of Paradise). 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 and had not known my account. 26 Oh, would that it had been death! 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 Vanished has my power from me." 29 (A command will be issued): “Seize him and shackle him, 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 and did not feel any urge to feed the needy: 34 so today he has no friend here, 35 "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, 36 which only the sinners will eat.” 37
