Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
