Said the Council of the unbelievers of his people, who cried lies to the encounter of the world to come, and to whom We had given ease in the present' life, 'This is naught but a mortal like yourselves, who eats of what you eat and drinks of what you drink. 33 So if you follow a man like yourself you will certainly be doomed. 34 “Does he promise you that when you die and turn into dust and bones, you will be raised again?” 35 ۞ How far, how far, is that which you are promised. 36 "There is nothing but our life in this world! We shall die and we live! But we shall never be raised up again! 37 "He is only a man who invents a lie against Allah, but we are not the ones to believe in him!" 38 He said: "O my Lord! Help me because they deny me." 39 Said Allah, “They will soon wake up at morn, regretting.” 40 Then a mighty blast quite justly overtook them, and We reduced them to a rubble. So away with the wrong-doing folk! 41 Then, after them, We brought forth other generations. 42 no nation outstrips its term, nor do they put it back. 43 then We sent Our messengers in succession. Every time their messenger came to a people, they rejected him. So We destroyed them one after the other, and let them become mere tales. So away with the people who will not believe! 44 Then We sent Musa (Moses) and his brother Harun (Aaron), with Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and manifest authority, 45 To Pharaoh and his nobles who behaved with arrogance, for they were a conceited lot, 46 They said, "Should we believe in two mere mortals who are like ourselves and whose people are our slaves?" 47 So they cried them lies, and they were among the destroyed. 48 And We gave Moses the Book, that haply they would be guided; 49 And We made the son of Mary and his mother as a Sign: We gave them both shelter on high ground, affording rest and security and furnished with springs. 50
