We also favored Moses and Aaron 114 And saved them and their people from the great distress, 115 We helped them, and they became victorious, 116 We gave them the explicit Book, 117 and showed them the Straight Way, 118 And We left for them among the later folk (the salutation): 119 Peace be upon Moses and Aaron. 120 This is how We reward those who do good: 121 Verily the twain were of Our bondmen believing. 122 And indeed Ilyas is one of the Noble Messengers. 123 When he said to his people, “Do you not fear?” 124 Will you invoke Baal and forsake [God,] the best of artisans 125 God, your Lord, and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients?' 126 In response they denied him, so they will surely be brought forth as captives. 127 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 128 and him We left thus to be remembered among later generations: 129 "Peace upon Elias." 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 132 Lot too was one of the Envoys; 133 Wherefore We saved him and his entire family 134 Except an old woman (his wife) who was among those who remained behind. 135 Then We destroyed the others. 136 and you pass by them in the morning 137 And at night; do you not then understand? 138
