Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 Others will be despondent, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
