The dwellers in El-Hijr cried lies to the Envoys. 80 We gave them Our signs, but they turned away from them. 81 Out of the mountains did they hew (their) edifices, (feeling themselves) secure. 82 and so the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at early morn, 83 Therefore their earnings did not in the least benefit them. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them save with truth, and lo! the Hour is surely coming. So forgive, (O Muhammad), with a gracious forgiveness. 85 Surely your Lord is the Creator and knows (everything). 86 AND, INDEED, We have bestowed upon thee seven of the oft repeated [verses,] and [have, thus, laid open before thee] this sublime Qur'an: 87 Cast not thine eyes toward that which We have let classes of them to enjoy; and grieve not over them, and lower thy wing unto the believers. 88 and say, "I am, indeed, a plain warner," 89 Even as We sent down on the dividers 90 Those who have made the scripture bits. 91 By the Lord, We will hold them all responsible 92 about what they did. 93 Promulgate thou that which thou art commanded, and turn away from the associaters. 94 verily, We shall suffice thee against all who [now] deride [this message - all] 95 and those who set up other gods with Allah, indeed, they will soon know. 96 We are well aware that you are disheartened by what they say. 97 But you should glorify your Lord with praises, and be among those who bow in submission; 98 and serve thy Lord, until the Certain comes to thee. 99
