(Moses) said: "O my Lord! expand me my breast; 25 “And make my task easy for me.” 26 and my tongue fluent 27 That they may understand my saying. 28 and appoint for me a helper from among my family, 29 "Harun (Aaron), my brother; 30 to support me. 31 And associate him (with me) in my affair, 32 That we may hallow Thee oft. 33 and remember Thee abundantly. 34 Indeed, You are of us ever Seeing." 35 (Allah) said: "Granted is thy prayer, O Moses!" 36 "And indeed, We bestowed Our favour upon thee at a time long since past, 37 when We revealed what was revealed unto thy mother: 38 'Put him in a wooden box and cast it in the river. The river will cast it on the bank. An enemy of Ours, and his, will retrieve it.' We bestowed Our love on you that you may be reared under Our eyes. 39 [And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses. 40 I chose you for Myself. 41 "Go, thou and thy brother, with My Signs, and slacken not, either of you, in keeping Me in remembrance. 42 Go both to Firon, surely he has become inordinate; 43 "And speak to him mildly, perhaps he may accept admonition or fear Allah." 44 'O our Lord,' said Moses and Aaron, 'truly we fear he may exceed against us, or wax insolent.' 45 The Lord replied them, "Do not be afraid; I Am with you all the time, listening and seeing." 46 So go ye unto him and say: Lo! we are two messengers of thy Lord. So let the children of Israel go with us, and torment them not. We bring thee a token from thy Lord. And peace will be for him who followeth right guidance. 47 Surely it has been revealed to us that the chastisement will surely come upon him who rejects and turns back. 48 (Firon) said: And who is your Lord, O Musa? 49 He said: Our Lord is He Who gave to everything its creation, then guided it (to its goal). 50 He said: then what happened to the former generations? 51 He said: The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a book, my Lord errs not, nor does He forget; 52 It is He who has laid out the earth for you and traced routes in it and sent down water from the sky. We have brought forth every sort of plant with it, 53 Eat [therefrom] and pasture your livestock. Indeed, in that are signs for those of intelligence. 54
