And whatever calamity befalls you, is because of what your hands have earned – and there is a great deal He pardons! 30 Nor can ye frustrate (aught), (fleeing) through the earth; nor have ye, besides Allah, any one to protect or to help. 31 And of His portents are the ships, like banners on the sea; 32 If He wills, He causes the wind to cease, then they would become motionless on the back (of the sea). Verily, in this are signs for everyone patient and grateful. 33 or He could have destroyed them as punishment for the human being's deeds. However, God pardons many sins. 34 And for those who dispute regarding Our signs to realise; that they do not have a place to escape to. 35 Whatever ye are given (here) is (but) a convenience of this life: but that which is with Allah is better and more lasting: (it is) for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord: 36 And those who shun the great sins and indecencies, and whenever they are angry they forgive. 37 Who obey the commands of their Lord and fulfil their devotional obligations, whose affairs are settled by mutual consultation, who spend of what We have given them, 38 And those who, when an oppressive wrong is done to them, they take revenge. 39 And the recompense of evil is punishment like it, but whoever forgives and amends, he shall have his reward from Allah; surely He does not love the unjust. 40 There is no blame against him who avenges himself after he has been wronged. 41 blame falls only on those who wrong men and transgress on this earth without justification, such will have a painful punishment, 42 But he who patiently endures and forgives, that is a conduct of great resolve. 43
