The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the sun and its morning brightness, 1 And the moon as she follows in his wake, 2 and by the day as it reveals its glory 3 And the night when it draws a veil over it, 4 by the heavens and that (Power) which established them, 5 By the Earth and its (wide) expanse: 6 And by oath of the soul and by oath of Him Who made it proper. 7 And inspired it with the wickedness thereof and the piety thereof, 8 He is indeed successful who causeth it to grow, 9 And he fails that corrupts it! 10 The tribe of Thamud denied with rebellion. 11 when the most wicked of them broke forth, 12 And the messenger of Allah said: It is the she-camel of Allah, so let her drink! 13 But they denied him and hamstrung her. So their Lord brought down upon them destruction for their sin and made it equal [upon all of them]. 14 He does not fear the result (of their destruction). 15
Almighty God's Truth.
