The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca. First revelation of the Quran before The Pen (Al-Qalam)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Recite in the name of your Lord who created - 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Bountiful One 3 who taught by the pen, 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 Nay, verily, man becomes grossly overweening 6 for he thinks himself self-sufficient. 7 Lo! unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 or orders piety? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 No, not at all. Never obey him. But prostrate yourself and become nigh (to your Lord). ۩ 19
Almighty God's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
