And recite to them the tiding of Abraham 69 when he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?' 70 They replied: "We worship idols and are devoted to them." 71 He asked, "Do they hear you when you call to them? 72 or do they profit you, or harm?' 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said: Have you then considered what you have been worshipping: 75 Ye and your forefathers! 76 "They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation." 77 who created me. It is He who guides me; 78 And Who feedeth me and watereth me. 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me. 80 who makes me to die, then gives me life, 81 and who, [hope, will forgive me my faults on Judgment Day! 82 "My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity." 83 and appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the others. 84 Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss 85 Forgive my father. He has gone astray. 86 And humiliate me not on the Day whereon people shall be raised. 87 The day when neither wealth nor children will be of any avail 88 But to him who comes to God with a tranquil heart." 89 and Paradise shall be brought forward to the cautious. 90 And hell will be revealed for the astray. 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 instead of God? Can these [things and beings] be of any help to you or to themselves?" 93 Then they will be thrown headlong into Hell, both they and the misguided ones, 94 and the hosts of Iblis, all together. 95 They shall say, as they dispute there one with another, 96 By Allah, of a truth we were in error manifest 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Universe. 98 It was nothing but the evildoers who led us astray. 99 and we have no intercessors now, 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 "So if only were we to go back, in order to become Muslims!" 102 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 104
