The people of Noah [too] gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 105 When their brother Noah said to them: "Will you not take heed? 106 I am a trustworthy Messenger sent to you. 107 So be fearful of God and listen to me. 108 I ask no payment from you for my preaching. The Lord of the Universe will give me my reward. 109 So guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me. 110 ۞ They said: "Shall we believe in you, when the meanest (of the people) follow you?" 111 Said he: "And what knowledge could I have as to what they were doing [before they came to me]? 112 "Their account is only with my Lord, if ye could (but) understand. 113 "And I am not going to drive away the believers. 114 I am only a clear warner." 115 They said: If you desist not, O Nuh, you shall most certainly be of those stoned to death. 116 He prayed: "O Lord, verily my people accuse me of lies. 117 Therefore judge You between me and them, and save me and those of the believers who are with me." 118 So We saved him, and those who were with him in the laden ark, 119 And drowned the rest of them. 120 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 121 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace 122
