The trumpet shall be sounded, when behold! from the sepulchres (men) will rush forth to their Lord! 51 They will say, "O woe to us! Who has raised us up from our sleeping place?" [The reply will be], "This is what the Most Merciful had promised, and the messengers told the truth." 52 And it is but one Shout and they are all arraigned before Us. 53 So today no soul will be wronged at all, and you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do. 54 See, the inhabitants of Paradise today are busy in their rejoicing, 55 They and their wives are in shades, reclining on thrones. 56 They will have therein fruits (of all kinds) and all that they ask for. 57 Peace, a saying from the Most Merciful Lord. 58 (The Lord will command), "Criminals, stand away from the others on this day." 59 ۞ Children of Adam, did I not make a covenant with you, that you should not worship satan he is surely a clear enemy to you 60 Did We not command you to worship Me and tell you that this is the straight path?" 61 Yet he led astray a great multitude of you. Why did you not then understand? 62 This is Gehenna, then, the same that you were promised; 63 Roast well therein this Day for you were unbelievers' 64 This Day, We shall seal up their mouths, and their hands will speak to Us, and their legs will bear witness to what they used to earn. (It is said that one's left thigh will be the first to bear the witness). [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 22, Page 24] 65 NOW HAD IT BEEN Our will [that men should not be able to discern between right and wrong,] We could surely have deprived them of their sight, so that they would stray forever from the [right] way: for how could they have had insight [into what is true]? 66 We could have turned them into other creatures on the spot had We wanted and they would not have been able to precede or turn back. 67
