So did you observe him who turned away? 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 From Nutfah (drops of semen male and female discharges) when it is emitted; 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 Thamud, 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 while you make merry? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
