Thorns (Al-Masad)
5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
May both the hands of Abu Lahab be destroyed – and they are destroyed! 1 Neither his wealth nor his gains will avail him. 2 He will be burnt in a Fire of blazing flames! 3 and so too will his wife who (threw thorns and firewood in the Prophet's way). 4 In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad (palm fibre). 5
God the Almighty always says the truth.
