38 verses, revealed in Medina after Iron (Al-Hadeed) before Thunder (Al-Ra'ad)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
God will bring to naught all the good deeds of those who are bent on denying the truth and bar [others] from the path of God. 1 As for those who believe and do good deeds and believe in what has been revealed to Muhammad, and it is the truth from their Lord, God will remove their sins from them and set their condition right. 2 This because those who reject Allah follow vanities, while those who believe follow the Truth from their Lord: Thus does Allah set forth for men their lessons by similitudes. 3 So when you meet those who disbelieve [in battle], strike [their] necks until, when you have inflicted slaughter upon them, then secure their bonds, and either [confer] favor afterwards or ransom [them] until the war lays down its burdens. That [is the command]. And if Allah had willed, He could have taken vengeance upon them [Himself], but [He ordered armed struggle] to test some of you by means of others. And those who are killed in the cause of Allah - never will He waste their deeds. 4 He will guide them and improve their condition; 5 He will admit them into the Paradise which He has made known to them. 6 O ye who believe! if ye shall succour Allah, He shall succour you and make firm your feet. 7 But those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), for them is destruction, and (Allah) will make their deeds vain. 8 That is because they detest that which Allah hath sent down, and so He shall make of non-effect their works. 9 ۞ Have they not then journeyed in the land and seen how was the end of those before them: Allah brought down destruction upon them, and the unbelievers shall have the like of it. 10 That is because Allah is the Protector of the believers whereas the unbelievers have none to protect them. 11

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
