Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 Indeed hell is one of the greatest entities. 35 it is a warning to man, 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 Except those on the right side. 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 as though they were frightened wild asses, 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Never so, as this is a reminder. 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
