Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
