The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 then he mustered 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
