The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
Almighty Allah's Truth.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
