The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 Hast thou seen him who dissuadeth 9 a servant when he prays -- 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 and enjoins piety? 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 We also shall call the infernal guards. 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
