۞ It is He who created you from a soul. From it He created its mate, so that he might reside with her. And when he had covered her, she conceived, and for a time her burden was light. She carried it with ease, but when it grew heavy, they both supplicated to Allah, their Lord: 'Grant us a goodly child and we will be among the thankful' 189 But when He gives them a good one, they set up with Him associates in what He has given them; but high is Allah above what they associate (with Him). 190 Do they attribute as partners to Allah those who created nothing but they themselves are created? 191 And who cannot succour them, nor can succour themselves. 192 And if you call the disbelievers to guidance, they do not follow you; it is the same for you, whether you invite them or remain silent. 193 Surely those whom you call on besides Allah are in a state of subjugation like yourselves; therefore call on them, then let them answer you if you are truthful. 194 Do they have feet by which they walk? Or do they have hands by which they strike? Or do they have eyes by which they see? Or do they have ears by which they hear? Say, [O Muhammad], "Call your 'partners' and then conspire against me and give me no respite. 195 "Verily, my Wali (Protector, Supporter, and Helper, etc.) is Allah Who has revealed the Book (the Quran), and He protects (supports and helps) the righteous. 196 While those you beseech apart from Him cannot help you or even help themselves. 197 If you call them to guidance, they will not hear you. You see them looking towards you, but they cannot see. 198 Keep to forgiveness (O Muhammad), and enjoin kindness, and turn away from the ignorant. 199 And if a false imputation from the Shaitan afflict you, seek refuge in Allah; surely He is Hearing, Knowing. 200 Surely those who guard (against evil), when a visitation from the Shaitan afflicts them they become mindful, then lo! they see. 201 and their brothers they lead on into error, then they stop not short. 202 And when thou bringest not a verse for them they say: Why hast thou not chosen it? Say: I follow only that which is inspired in me from my Lord. This (Qur'an) is insight from your Lord, and a guidance and a mercy for a people that believe. 203 And when the Quran is recited, then listen to it and remain silent, that mercy may be shown to you. 204 And remember thou thy Lord within thyself with humility and fear, without loudness in word, in the morning and evenings; and be thou not of the negligent. 205 [The angels] who are near to Your Lord, never turn away from His service out of arrogance; they rather glorify Him and prostrate themselves before Him. ۩ 206
