Then when the sent ones entered unto the household of Lut. 61 He said: "Verily! You are people unknown to me." 62 They answered: "Nay, but we have come unto thee with [the announcement of] something that they [who are given to evil] have always been wont to call in question, 63 And we have come to you with the truth, and we are most surely truthful. 64 Therefore go forth with your followers in a part of the night and yourself follow their rear, and let not any one of you turn round, and go forth whither you are commanded. 65 We issued this command to him, for they were going to be destroyed in the morning. 66 Then came the people of the city, exulting at the news. 67 He said: 'These are my guests; do not shame me. 68 "And fear Allah and disgrace me not." 69 They said: forbade we not thee against the worlds? 70 [Lot] said: "[Take instead] these daughters of mine, if you must do [whatever you intend to do]!" 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 An explosion struck them at sunrise. 73 And We made the upside there of downwards, and We rained on them stones of baked clay. 74 Surely in that are signs for such as mark; 75 And indeed that township is upon a road still in use. 76 Behold! in this is a sign for those who believed. 77 The people of the Wood were also surely wrongdoers. 78 So We took retribution from them, and indeed, both [cities] are on a clear highway. 79
