Alshu'araa' 10 of 11

The dwellers of Al-Aiyka [near Madyan (Midian)] belied the Messengers. 176 What time Shu'aib said unto them: fear ye not? 177 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 180 ۞ Give a full measure and be not of those who diminish; 181 and weigh with the straight scale, 182 And defraud not people of their things, and commit not corruption on the earth. 183 And guard against (the punishment of) Him who created you and the former nations. 184 They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched; 185 You are only a human being like ourselves. Indeed we think you are a liar. 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do." 188 Then they branded him a liar, whereupon the chastisement of the Day of Canopy overtook them. It was the chastisement of a very awesome day. 189 Surely, in this is indeed a sign; but most of them would not believe: 190 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 191
