Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 for We saved him and his household from that awesome calamity, 76 and We made his seed the survivors, 77 We perpetuated his praise in later generations. 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all the worlds' 79 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 80 Surely he was of Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ And, verily, among those who followed his [Nuh's (Noah)] way (Islamic Monotheism) was Ibrahim (Abraham). 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart [attached to Allah Alone and none else, worshipping none but Allah Alone true Islamic Monotheism, pure from the filth of polytheism]. 84 When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 Then what is your thought about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 Then he looked carefully at the stars 88 And he said, "I am indeed sick (at heart)!" 89 and at that they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Thereupon he approached their gods stealthily and said, "What! You do not eat [of the offerings placed before you]? 91 "What is the matter with you that you speak not?" 92 Then he turned against them secretly, smiting them with the right hand. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 He said: worship ye that which ye carve. 95 when it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 They desired to outwit him; so We made them the lower ones. 98 And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy, possessing forbearance. 101 and when he was old enough to go about and work with him, (one day) Abraham said to him: “My son, I see in my dream that I am slaughtering you. So consider (and tell me) what you think.” He said: “Do as you are bidden. You will find me, if Allah so wills, among the steadfast.” 102 Then, when they had both submitted themselves (to the Will of Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (or on the side of his forehead for slaughtering); 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 That was indeed a clear trial. 106 We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice 107 and We let it (the beautiful praise) remain upon him in the latter (generations), 108 Peace be unto Ibrahim: 109 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 and blessed him and Isaac too: some of their offspring were good, but some clearly sinned against their souls. 113
