AND, INDEED, We have created man out of sounding clay, out of dark-slime transmuted 26 And the jinn We created before from scorching fire. 27 Your Lord said to the angels, "I am about to bring into being a man wrought from mud. 28 "So, when I have fashioned him completely and breathed into him (Adam) the soul which I created for him, then fall (you) down prostrating yourselves unto him." 29 Therefore all the angels, each and every one of them, fell prostrate. 30 save Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves. 31 He said: 'iblis, what is the matter with you, that you do you not prostrate yourself' 32 Iblis replied, "I did not want to prostrate before a human being whom You have created out of mud-moulded clay". 33 (Allah) said: "Then, get out from here, for verily, you are Rajim (an outcast or a cursed one)." [Tafsir At-Tabari] 34 “And indeed you are accursed till the Day of Judgement.” 35 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day they (the dead) will be resurrected." 36 The Lord said, "Your request is granted 37 Till the Day of appointed time. 38 He said: My Lord! Because Thou hast sent me astray, I verily shall adorn the path of error for them in the earth, and shall mislead them every one, 39 except Your sincere servants". 40 (Allah) said: "This (way of My sincere servants) is indeed a way that leads straight to Me. 41 and you have no authority over My servants except the erring ones who follow you. 42 And lo! for all such, hell will be the promised place. 43 Seven gates it has, and unto each gate a set portion of them belongs.' 44
