1/4 Hizb 35
< random >
The notables among his people who had refused to believe and who denied the meeting of the Hereafter, and those whom We had endowed with ease and comfort in this life, cried out: "This is no other than a mortal like yourselves who eats what you eat and drinks what you drink. 33 And if you should obey a man like yourselves, indeed, you would then be losers. 34 Does he give you a promise that when you are dead and turned to dust and bones, you will be raised to life again? 35 ۞ Far-fetched, far-fetched indeed is what you are promised! 36 There is no other life than the life of the world. We shall live here and here shall we die; and we are not going to be raised again. 37 "He is only a man who invents a lie against Allah, but we are not the ones to believe in him!" 38 [Whereupon the prophet] would say: "O my Sustainer! Succour me against their accusation of lying!" 39 Answered (the Lord): "They shall wake up repenting soon." 40 Then the shout laid hold of them in truth, and We made them a refuse; so away with the wrong-doing people! 41 Then after them We raised other generations. 42 Every nation has an appointed life span. 43 Then sent We our messengers in succession: every time there came to a people their messenger, they accused him of falsehood: so We made them follow each other (in punishment): We made them as a tale (that is told): So away with a people that will not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and a manifest authority 45 To Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his chiefs, but they behaved insolently and they were people self-exalting (by disobeying their Lord, and exalting themselves over and above the Messenger of Allah). 46 And so they said: "Shall we believe [them] two mortals like ourselves - although their people are our slaves?" 47 Then they accused them of lies, and joined the company of those who were destroyed. 48 And We certainly gave Moses the Scripture that perhaps they would be guided. 49 And We made the son of Mary and his mother as a Sign: We gave them both shelter on high ground, affording rest and security and furnished with springs. 50
