۞ AND [there came a time when] We inspired Moses thus: "Go forth with My servants by night: for, behold, you will be pursued!" 52 So Firon sent heralds into the cities; 53 (Proclaiming): "Surely they are a small band (of fugitives). 54 who have certainly provoked our wrath. 55 seeing that we are, verily, a nation united, fully prepared against danger 56 So We expelled them from gardens and fountains, 57 and [deprived them of their erstwhile] station of honour!" 58 Thus. And We caused to inherit it the Children of Israel. 59 Then they pursued them at sunrise. 60 and as soon as the two hosts came in sight of one another, the followers of Moses exclaimed: "Behold, we shall certainly be overtaken [and defeated]!" 61 He said: By no means; surely my Lord is with me: He will show me a way out. 62 We sent a revelation to Moses saying, "Strike the sea with your staff." The sea was rent asunder and each side stood high up like a huge mountain. 63 Then We brought near the others [Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) party] to that place. 64 We saved Moses and all the people with him 65 then, We drowned the others. 66 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 67 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 68
