Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion of the Universe, and Who has power over everything; 1 He who has created death as well as life, so that He might put you to a test [and thus show] which of you is best in conduct, and [make you realize that] He alone is almighty, truly forgiving. 2 who created the seven heavens, one above the other. You cannot see any inconsistency in the creation of the Merciful. Return your gaze, do you see any crack! 3 Then return thy gaze again, and again, and thy gaze comes back to thee dazzled, aweary. 4 And indeed We have adorned the nearest heaven with lamps, and We have made such lamps (as) missiles to drive away the Shayatin (devils), and have prepared for them the torment of the blazing Fire. 5 And for those who disbelieved in their Lord is the punishment of Hell, and wretched is the destination. 6 When they shall be cast therein, they shall hear a loud moaning of it as it heaves, 7 It almost bursts up with fury. Every time a group is cast therein, its keeper will ask: "Did no warner come to you?" 8 They say, 'Yes indeed, a warner came to us; but we cried lies, saying, "God has not sent down anything; you are only in great error. 9 And they shall say: Had we but listened or pondered, we should not have been among the inmates of the burning fire. 10 So it is that they confess their sins. Curse the inhabitants of the Blaze! 11 [As against this,] behold, for those who stand in awe of God although He is beyond the reach of their perception, there is forgiveness in store and a great reward. 12 And whather ye keep your discourse secret or publish it, verily He is the Knower of that which is in the breasts. 13 Shall He not know, who created? And He is the All-subtle, the All-aware. 14
