And this (Qur'an) is a revelation from the Lord of all the worlds, 192 The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down 193 To (communicate) to your heart that you may be a warner 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 Truly it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Was it not a proof for them that the learned men of Israel knew about this? 197 If We had sent it down on a barbarian 198 And he had recited it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter into the hearts of the guilty. 200 they will not believe in it until they see the grievous punishment. 201 It shall come unto them on a sudden, and they shall not perceive. 202 Then they will say: "Can we be respited?" 203 Do they really want Our chastisement to be expedited? 204 Have you then considered if We let them enjoy themselves for years, 205 Yet there comes to them at length the (Punishment) which they were promised! 206 what will it then avail them, the enjoyment of days they were given? 207 Never a city We destroyed, but it had warners 208 For reminder, for We never were oppressors. 209 The devils did not bring it down. 210 It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able. 211 verily, [even] from hearing it are they utterly debarred! 212 Therefore do not worship another deity along with Allah, for you will be punished. 213 And O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), warn your closest relatives. 214 And lower thy wing to the Believers who follow thee. 215 And if they (thy kinsfolk) disobey thee, say: Lo! I am innocent of what they do. 216 And rely upon (Allah) the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 217 who sees thee when thou standest 218 and [sees] thy behaviour among those who prostrate themselves [before Him]: 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They descend on every great accuser, extreme sinner. (The magicians) 222 They give ear, but most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, only the wayward follow them. 224 Do you not see that they wander about in every valley 225 And they speak what they do not do? 226 Except those who believed and did good deeds, and profusely remembered Allah, and took revenge after they had been wronged*; and soon the unjust will come to know upon which side they will be overturned**. (* The Muslim poets who praise Allah and the Prophet. ** The disbelievers will be punished.) 227
