Y S (Yaa Seen)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ya-Sin. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 By the Wise Koran, 2 you (Prophet Muhammad) are truly among the Messengers sent 3 pursuing a straight way 4 A revelation from the mighty, ever-merciful (God), 5 In order that you may warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, so they are heedless. 6 Already hath the judgment, (for their infidelity) proved true of most of them, for they believe not. 7 We have indeed put shackles around their necks reaching up to the chins, so they remain facing upwards. 8 and We have put before them a barrier and behind them a barrier; and We have covered them, so they do not see. 9 Whether you warn them or not, they will not believe. 10 Thou canst [truly] warn only him who is willing to take the reminder to heart, and who stands in awe of the Most Gracious although He is beyond the reach of human perception: unto such, then, give the glad tiding of [God's] forgiveness and of a most excellent reward! 11 We will surely bring the dead to life and We record what they send ahead and the signs they will leave behind; and We have accounted all things in a clear Book. 12
