No, by the moon! 32 by the retreating night, 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 a warning to mortal man 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 in Gardens they will question 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 running away from a lion? 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 Nay, but they do not [believe in and hence, do not] fear the life to come. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
