Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
