Al-Shams

The Sun (Al-Shams)

15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

I swear by the sun and its brilliance, 1 And the moon as she follows in his wake, 2 And the day when it shows it, 3 By the night when it envelopeth it, 4 By the heaven and Him Who builded it, 5 by the earth and Who spread it, 6 And by oath of the soul and by oath of Him Who made it proper. 7 Then He inspired it to understand what is right and wrong for it; 8 Indeed successful is the one who made it pure. 9 And indeed failed is the one who covered it in sin. 10 The Thamud (people) rejected (their prophet) through their inordinate wrong-doing, 11 When the most unfortunate of them broke forth with 12 Then the apostle of Allah said unto them: beware of the she-camel of Allah and her drink. 13 However, they rejected him and slew her. So their Lord completely destroyed them and their city for their sins. 14 He has no fear of its sequel. 15

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
